Biblioteca Arcana

Filed under: Hellenism — enyo @ 6:00 am

This page gets a mixed review from me.

It’s got some absolutely wonderful information on Classical paganism. Sources are cited.

But it’s dry like Adler’s Drawing Down the Moon is dry. It’s slow to download. And I’m not sure that everything on there is supposed to be.

Still, though, for raw information, this site is unbelievably worth your time.

Sannion’s Sanctuary

Filed under: Hellenism — enyo @ 7:23 am

I’ve seen this site in a couple of locations over the years, and I’ve always loved it. Sannion is a Hellenic Reconstructionist, and he’s absolutely brilliant.

Sannion’s Sanctuary offers some absolutely fantastic editorial essays (which he aptly calls “Pagan Rants”), a phenomenal section on Hellenic Polytheism, and more. It’s wonderfully organized, well-written, and well-thought.

And I absolutely adore the fact that he cites his sources.

As for the look and feel of the site, it compliments the content. It’s pretty, but not too graphics intensive. The graphics that *are* there are clearly there for a reason, not just because “it looks kewl”.

It you’re interested in any information on Hellenic Recon, or just any work by intelligent Pagans in general, stop by Sannion’s Sanctuary for a while.

Temple of Apollo

Filed under: Hellenism — enyo @ 4:22 pm

Aside from a few typos on the link buttons, I was quite happy with this site.

It’s a wonderful write-up on Apollo, acknowledging that not all worship Him as a god-figure, yet pointing out the different ways of worship. If you have any interest in Apollo, this is a site worth going to. It has a wonderful selection of links for information and art on Apollo, as well as some lovely poetry. Great resource!

Hellenion

Filed under: Hellenism — enyo @ 4:35 pm

Hellenion is a site that goes, in depth into Hellenic Reconstructionism. It’s one of the most intensive sites that I’ve ever seen for any form of reconstructionism. It offers hymns and poems to the Gods and heroes, as well as rituals (including weddings), all done from a strict Hellenic point of view. In addition to that, it also offers instruction in how to become, well, proficient, I suppose, in their practices, offering primary and secondary resources to glean knowledge. Membership and clergy status is also available.
